As many of you heard the news last month about Mike Kearney’s passing on March 29th, I imagine a range of different responses. For many in the local Foursquare world (be that CitySalt Church, Eugene Faith Center, and beyond), Mike’s ministry was deeply meaningful and always authentic. 

When Pastor Shannon felt the leading of the Holy Spirit to plant South Hills (now CitySalt) Church, Mike’s supporting work shaped the church we are all part of today. As one who joined CitySalt after Shannon and Mike passed on the church’s leadership to the next generation, I feel a deep sense of gratitude and respect for the hours, prayers, and leadership that Mike Kearney’s investment in our church has shaped. Without a doubt, we would not be who we are today without Mike.

For those of you who knew and were loved by Mike, please continue to share stories! For all of us, Mike’s Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 22, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Eugene Faith Center.
