Listen along as Pastor Dusty shares this message surrounding the failure and restoration of one of Jesus’ closest disciples. In Mark 14:26-72 we see Jesus predict a weak moment for Peter. As Jesus is arrested and undergoing a trial, Peter ultimately does the “one thing he said he would never do” by denying that he ever knew Jesus. After his resurrection in John 21, Jesus pursues Peter by serving him a fireside breakfast conversation on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Jesus clearly communicates love, acceptance and forgiveness in the face of Peter’s worst moment of failure and shame.
"SIN | David and Bathsheba" by Dusty Johnson
Listen along as Pastor Dusty shares this message about King David and asks the question, "How does the man after God's own heart, end up being the man after another man's wife?" This message is based in 2 Samuel 9-12 and is certainly relevant to our current #MeToo movement as leaders are facing issues around what Dusty refers to as the "PP problem" in the United States (Penis+Power=Potential Problem). Dusty challenges Christ followers to pay attention to the condition of our own souls so that we don't end up suffering from consequences of our choices that are not in line with who God is calling us to be.
Britni D'Eliso also shares about the difference between guilt and shame in the wrap up of the message.
This message is part of an ongoing series called David Stories | Exploring Earthy Spirituality. This series aims to cultivate a new appreciation for the variety of ways God demonstrates His love and commitment to mankind throughout the overarching bible narrative threaded through OT stories of David that take us through many relevant topics and ultimately point to Jesus.
