Help Local Teens and Families through ECCO High School with holiday groceries!

For the last several years CitySalt has partnered with ECCO High School (or Early College and Career Options) to provide families who could use extra help have meal boxes for BOTH Thanksgiving and over the Winter Break holidays.

ECCO is Eugene 4J’s alternative high school option for students who traditional comprehensive schools are not the right fit. They are also serving students enrolled at EOA (Eugene Online Academy) or working to complete their GED. Students opt to enroll in alternative education for a variety of reasons, but it is also often the last safety net before students drop out of school altogether. 

For the 4th year in a row we are partnering with staff at ECCO to provide both Thanksgiving Meal Boxes AND Winter Break Grocery Boxes for students and families in need. This year CitySalt, and Open Table Church are working together to meet this need. As grocery prices have increased and SNAP benefits have been reduced the need is surely great!

Thanksgiving Meals Boxes are sourced through the OneHope Church Network and cost $40 per box to sponsor.

Groceries for the Winter Break Grocery Boxes are personalized for each individual family based on their specific needs and preferences. This personalization is done through the ECCO HS staff. The price per box varies, but averages about $65 per box.

Our CitySalt goal is to raise $5,000 to supply Thanksgiving Meal Boxes and Winter Break Grocery Boxes. Open Table Church will join in with their own in-house fundraising projects.

Register to help partner on either of the following teams: 

1. Monday, November 24th, Morning/Mid Day
   Help transport Thanksgiving Meal Boxes from OneHope to ECCO High School.

2. Tuesday, December 16th, Evening at the Box
   Help sort donations into Winter Break Grocery Boxes and transport to ECCO High School. Pizza will be provided for volunteers!
