Kids & Youth

At CitySalt we believe that kids are an integral part of the whole church. Not a side ministry.

With that in mind, kids begin service their family in the main gathering to sing and worship alongside adults. Before the sermon, kids 5th-grade and younger move over to the kids’ ministry space for them to have a child-centered, age-appropriate learning experience. During this time, kids are invited participate in an exploration activity, a lesson rooted in the scriptures, some processing activities, and games or free play as time allows. A small snack is provided during this time as well.

Intergenerational Worship Services

In an attempt to foster deeper connection, learning and story-sharing between children and adults, CitySalt has experimented with intentionally designed intergenerational worship services through the summer season and at other times throughout the year. During these services, activities, music, and lessons designed with kids and adults in mind facilitate meaningful processing, reflection and conversations about God, spirituality and personal growth across the generations. Over time, these kinds of connections help to build a sense of ownership and belonging in a child’s relationship to their faith community.

CitySalt uses curriculum designed by StoryLine Kids. You can find out more about StoryLine’s vision and curriculum here.
